1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Vidi ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Vidi is a media player designed for macOS. It allows users to play video files stored locally on their device, stream videos from URLs, and cast content to supported devices (AirPlay, DLNA, Chromecast). The App does not host or provide any video content. You are solely responsible for the content you choose to play using the App.
3. Subscriptions & Purchases
Payment: Vidi offers optional "Pro" features via a monthly subscription or a one-time "Lifetime" purchase. Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at the confirmation of purchase.
Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
Management: You can manage or turn off auto-renewal in your Apple ID Account Settings any time after purchase.
Free Trial: Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription to that publication, where applicable.

4. User Responsibilities
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights and permissions to view any content you play through the App, whether local or streamed.
5. Intellectual Property
The App itself, including its design, code, and branding, is the property of Vidi and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" without any warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free or uninterrupted.
Privacy Policy
Summary
Vidi is a privacy-focused video player. We do not track your viewing habits, we do not collect personal usage data, and we do not sell your information.
1. Data Collection & Usage
We collect minimal data necessary for specific features to function:
- OpenSubtitles Integration: When you use the subtitle search feature, a request is made to our Cloudflare Worker, which then forwards the request to the OpenSubtitles API. Your IP address is passed through to OpenSubtitles as required by their API for rate limiting and security purposes. We do not log this IP address.
- Network Streams (URL Playback): If you choose to play a video from a remote URL, your device connects directly to that server. The content provider of that URL will be able to see your IP address, just as they would if you visited their website.
- Casting (AirPlay, DLNA, Chromecast): Casting involves communication over your local network to discover and connect to devices. This data stays within your local network and is not sent to our servers.
- No Other Data: We do not collect names, emails, playback history, file names, or any other personal information.
2. Third-Party Services
OpenSubtitles: If you use the subtitle download feature, the App interacts with the OpenSubtitles service. Please refer to their privacy policy for information on how they handle data.
3. Data Security
Since we do not collect or store your personal data on our servers, there is no risk of your personal data being breached from our systems. Your local files are as secure as your device.
4. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
